Top News Ajax Reaches Agreement To Sign Nice Farioli

Ajax Amsterdam has agreed to pay a price for the release of Nice coach Francesco Farioli, who is anticipated to accept a three-year contract in the next days, according to media reports in France and the Netherlands on Wednesday.

Farioli, an Italian, will take over for John van ‘t Schip after Ajax finished fifth in the Eredivisie, their lowest position since the 1999-2000 season.

According to NOS.nl, Ajax will pay Nice 1.25 million euros ($1.35 million) in compensation for Farioli’s appointment as the club’s first foreign coach since Morten Olsen in 1997.

In his third full season as a coach, Farioli led Nice to fifth place in Ligue 1.

He previously led Turkish clubs Fatih Karagumruk and Alanyaspor before joining Nice at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Farioli worked as a goalkeeper coach at Benevento and Sassuolo for former Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi, but he never played professional football.
