Top News Burnley Appoint Bellamy As Interim Manager After Kompany Departure

Following Vincent Kompany’s departure, Craig Bellamy has taken over as interim Burnley head coach while the club searches for a new manager.

Mike Jackson will serve as the acting assistant head coach.

A Burnley statement read: “We have great faith in Craig and Mike, and think their significant experience and profound understanding of the club make them the ideal candidates to manage the team at this critical moment.

“We will provide further updates regarding a permanent manager in due course.”

Former Wales striker Bellamy, 44, was formerly the player-development manager at his hometown club Cardiff, where he oversaw the club’s junior academy and age-group teams before joining Kompany at Anderlecht in 2019.

Kompany, who led Burnley to the 2022-23 Sky Bet Championship title, was appointed Bayern manager on Wednesday following Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League.
