FIFA World Cup Jordan Ayew honoured by Ghana FA for reaching 100th international cap

Ghana international Jordan Ayew received a special honour from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for reaching his 100th International cap for the Black Stars.

The Crystal Palace forward, was handed a Golden Boot by the football governing body after becoming the third Ghanaian player to achieve the feat.

Jordan Ayew made his Ghana debut on September 5, 2010 against Swaziland, and scored his first and second International goals in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.

The 32-year old achieved the 100th cap feat against Mozambique during the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire where he scored two goals in three matches.

Jordan Ayew has since made four appearances for Ghana against Nigeria, Uganda, Mali and Central African Republic and moves 6th in the all-time top scorers chart.

He is hotly chasing the likes of Abdul Razak, Tony Yeboah, Kwasi Owusu, Edward Acquah and Ghana’s all-time top goal scorer Asamoah Gyan.
