Nigeria Premier League NPFL Award Rangers Three Points, Fine Enyimba For Violating Rules

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has sanctioned Enyimba and Rangers International for violating its framework and rules during their Matchday 35 match.

Rangers International received three points and three goals, but Enyimba FC was fined N10 million for violating the rules.

The Oriental derby, matchday 35, between the two teams at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday, was abandoned due to a dubious penalty handed to the home team, Rangers International, in the last minutes.

Meanwhile, Rangers International will pay a N5 million fine for a variety of offences, including failure to provide adequate security, encroachment on the pitch by fans and other unauthorised persons, and sales of tickets to spectators who exceeded the stadium capacity, resulting in encroachment of the pitch.

Both teams have 48 hours to appeal the verdict. Rangers International is at the top of the league table, with 64 points from 35 matches, followed by Enyimba FC and Remo Stars, both with 59 points.
