Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Boboye Optimistic Sunshine Stars Can Avoid Relegation

Sunshine Stars coach Kennedy Boboye is sure that his team would avoid relegation in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League.

Sunshine Stars got out of the murky water after winning back-to-back games to move them six points above the relegation zone.

The Owena Whales increased their chances of survival to 46 points with a two-nil win over fellow relegation-threatened outfit Akwa United.

Boboye believes they will continue to improve with three games remaining in the season to avoid relegation.

“We didn’t give up even with the result in the first half.

“The players kept pushing because we knew we needed the victory.

“The result has pushed us up on the ladder and we will continue to rise.

“Most times in every good team, the bench is your strength because when you have a good bench, you can as well make changes that will get you results like it did for us.”

Sunshine Stars have nine more points to play for, travelling to Doma United before returning home to face Remo Stars in a derby, followed by their season finale against Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna.
