FIFA World Cup Zambia’s Chipolopolo in good mood mentally to face Tanzania – Grant

Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant says his charges have put behind their 2-1 loss to Morocco and now focused on Tuesday’s Group E match against Tanzania.

Speaking during the press conference, Grant said the qualification process was still not yet decided with five more games to play. He said the team would now be working on getting a result against Tanzania.

“In the beginning it was very difficult to lift them but yesterday (Sunday) they started training. I told them, like I always say, that the most important thing is the next game,” said Grant. “So now they are in a good mood mentally for the next game.”

The former Chelsea coach said Tanzania were a tough opponent that gave a good account of themselves during the AFCON.

“We know it is a very important game for us because we want to stay in the picture against a very good opponent. You saw what they did at AFCON against us and against Congo including in the qualifiers,” he said.

“They played well with a lot of intensity but we need to think about us and we want to win this game.”Grant said the home support was a great boost for the Chipolopolo in their home games.

“Now we are playing at our home where our supporters are amazing and we always took our results in the last games we have played here and we still want it to be like this,” he said.

The Chipolopolo.will face Tanzania on Tuesday (18:00 hours CAT) at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in a Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier in Ndola.
