Nigeria Flamingos Back To Nigeria After Defeating Liberia

The Flamingos returned to Nigeria after defeating Liberia 4-1 in a fast-paced FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round, first leg match in Monrovia on Sunday.

The girls will immediately begin preparations for the return leg, which is slated for Friday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

To reach this level, the 2022 World Cup bronze medalists defeated their opponents from the Central African Republic and Burkina Faso by large scores.

The Central African Republic lost by a dozen goals on aggregate, while the Burkinabe girls were defeated 7-1.

Liberia, which eliminated Senegal from the race, faces a difficult job against the quick-footed Nigerian girls, with Coach Bankole Olowookere saying that the Flamingos are determined to be in the Dominican Republic to compete for the trophy this time around.
