Dstv Premiership PSL Referee Shaun Olive Seriously Injuried In Car Accident

Reigning 2019/20 PSL Assistant Referee of the Season, Shaun Olive was involved in a serious car accident earlier this week. And he is now in need of medical treatment.

However, Olive currently does not have medical aid. And he is in need of financial aid to cover his medical bills. A call has been thus made for support.

His partner Sherize Pieterse has setup a backabuddy page, which allows for donations to be made in this regard. Several figures from the local football fraternity have already stepped in to assist.

On the morning of May 4th, Shaun was leaving his home in Mondeor to head to work and had an accident where his car rolled over him and dragged him across the road.” Read the description on the backabuddy website. 

Due to work restrictions over the last year, he has lost his medical aid and has no cover for his medical treatment. His injuries are severe. And he will require surgeries.” Clarified the declaration.

Encouragingly, amongst those who have donated and sent well wishes are former PSL referees Jerome Damon and Daniel Bennet, former Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits winger Sameehg Doutie and current Kaizer Chiefs defender Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.

Donations can also be made anonymously, with the aim to raise R1-million to cover all of Olive’s medical procedures and all other needs for his recovery and treatment.
