CAF Champions League Motsepe Sets To Launch Africa Super League In Tanzania

On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe will officially introduce the much awaited Africa Super League.

Several TV networks in Africa and other areas of the world, including CAF streaming platforms, CAFTV, will broadcast the event live from Arusha, Tanzania, at 13:00 Eastern African Time (EAT), 12:00 Cairo Time, and 10:00 GMT.

There has been a sense of expectation since the CAF President revealed the debut date of July 2022 as Africa gets ready for a new era that will alter the landscape of African football and the economic fortunes of the continent.

The preliminary round draw for the 2022–2023 TotalEnergies CAF Interclub competitions will take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 16 a.m. local time in Cairo, Egypt.

The TotalEnergies Confederation Cup and TotalEnergies CAF Champions League seasons of 2022–23 will both kick off with this draw.

The current TotalEnergies CAF Champions League champion is Wydad Athletic Club.

The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup is currently being defended by RS Berkane, a club from Morocco, who have won it twice in the last three years.
Preliminary rounds’ dates:

First Round (Home/Away): 09 – 11 Sep / 16 – 18 Sep 2022

Second Round (Home/Away): 07 – 9 Oct / 14 – 16 Oct 2022
