UEFA Champions League Guardiola announces Man City star will miss Real Madrid clash

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola announced in his pre-match press conference that one of his key players will miss the return leg of their UEFA Champions league clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday (19:00 GMT).

It’s the most important match of the year for Guardiola and his men. Ancelotti and his men too.

The two biggest favorites at this stage of the competition clash and one of them will be eliminated after the draw (1-1) in the first leg in the Spanish capital.

But unlike Carlo Ancelotti who will rely on all his vital forces including Eduardo Camavinga for whom all Madrid held their breath after his exit this weekend against Getafe, Guardiola will do without Nathan Aké. Again.

Already absent in the first leg, the Dutch central defender who has not recovered from his calf injury contracted against Leeds, will also miss this return leg.

Asked about the state of health within his group, the Catalan technician gave a rather short and precise answer. “De Bruyne is fine. All but Aké are available,” said Pep Guardiola who will therefore play again Kyle Walker on the right side alongside Manuel Akanji (left) and Ruben Dias (axis) in defense
