CAF Champions League CAF CC: Tanzania government to airlift fans to support Yanga SC vs USM Alger

Tanzania President President Samia Suluhu Hassan has confirmed the government will provide a chartered flight for supporter who will travel to cheer Yanga SC in the return leg final of the Caf Confederation Cup.

The Tanzanian champions reached their first-ever final in the Caf competitions after eliminating Marumo Gallants of South Africa 4-1 on aggregate.

Yanga won the first leg meeting in Tanzania 2-0 and went ahead to win win the return leg in South Africa 2-1. In the process, they booked a final place with USM Alger of Algeria, who defeated Ivory Coast’as ASEC Mimosa 2-0 on aggregate.

The Timu ya Mwanachi will play the first leg of the final at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on May 28 before proceeding for the return leg away.

Yanga arrived safely in Tanzania on Friday and they met news that apart from the flight to carry the fans, Suluhu had doubled the presidential motivation package to 20m/- for each goal to be scored by Yanga.

The Jangwani-giants will next face Singida Big Stars in the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) semi-final at Liti Stadium in Singida on Sunday. The winner will play Azam FC in the final of the domestic competition scheduled for Nangwanda Sijaona Stadium in Mtwara.
