Tanzania Premier League Simba turns down Gor Mahia offer to sign Onyango

Tanzania Mainland Premier League side Simba SC have turned down an offer from Kenyan giants Gor Mahia to sign defender Joash Onyango.

A source, who spoke to Sokalabongo, has confirmed that K’Ogalo have shown keen interest to re-sign the Harambee Stars defender but Simba have described their offer on the table as “too small to ignite talks.”

“It true that Gor Mahia from Kenya have shown interest to sign Joash [Onyango] for next season but Simba have refused to discuss the same because they want the offer given to be doubled,” the source said.

“Simba are ready and willing to let Onyango go but what Gor Mahia are giving to sign him back is too small and they [Simba] are asking if the Kenyan club can double the amount.”

However, the source admitted talks are still on-going for the two clubs to reach an amicable solution.

“The two clubs are still talking, and they hope an agreement will be reached soon and if all goes well then Onyango will not be part of our squad for next season.”
