FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP FIFA Announces Jeddah As 2023 Club World Cup Host

Soccer’s global governing body Fifa announced on Monday that the 2023 Club World Cup will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

After a Fifa mission visited Jeddah last week to evaluate continuing tournament preparations, a decision was taken.

“We are delighted that Jeddah, with its state-of-the-art facilities and reputation for hosting major international sports events, has been selected as host city for the Fifa Club World Cup,” President of SAFF Yasser Al Misehal said.

As was originally announced in February, the competition, which will take place from December 12 through December 22, will be staged for the first time in Saudi Arabia.

The Club World Cup’s present format, a yearly competition with seven teams, will be abandoned after the 2023 tournament and replaced with a 32-team competition that will debut in the United States in 2025.
