Ligue 1 Messi Scoops French Ligue 1 Best Foreign Player Award

Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, was named the best foreign player in French Ligue 1 for the 2022–2023 campaign.

Messi won the prize after scoring 16 goals and dishing out 16 assists in 32 League matches during the 2022–23 season.

The 16 assists were the most in the division, and as a result, he previously won the season’s playmaker award.

The Ligue 1 Twitter account posted the Best Foreign Player award.

Messi spent the previous two seasons with Paris Saint-Germain before signing with Inter Miami in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Last season, Messi played 41 games for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and dishing out 20 assists.

With a combined 85 points from 38 games, Paris Saint-Germain took first place in the French League.
