Nigeria Naija Super 8: Osho Unfazed With Akwa Loss To Lobi Stars

Despite his team’s 2-0 loss against Lobi Stars in their Naija Super 8 match on Wednesday, Akwa United head coach Fatai Osho remained unperturbed.

The Promise Keepers suffered their first loss in the competition when Joseph Atule scored twice in the first half.
The Uyo-based club earned six points to place second in Group B.

Giving all of his players a chance to compete in the competition, according to Osho, was a tactical choice.

The former Enyimba FC head coach in an interview with the club media said he was contented that the team had already secured a semi-final ticket

Having already secured our place in the last four, the match with Lobi Stars gave us a good opportunity to see all our players in a competitive match situation as we continue to build for the new league season,” Osho told the club’s official website.

We observed that we didn’t play well and we made some mistakes, especially in the first half, but we came back stronger in the second half but we couldn’t overturn the result.

Remember, this is a pre-season tournament and we have already qualified for the semi-final. So, it was a match to determine who tops the group.

Our next match on Friday will be a different ball game
