Uganda URA FC keep faith in youngsters as they unveil Sekibengo

Ugandan Premier League side have announced their fourth signing of creative midfielder Sekibengo Godfrey ahead of the new season.

“URA FC is pleased to announce the signing of teenage creative midfielder Sekibengo Godfrey,” said a statement on their official website, adding: “The 17-year-old joins the Tax Collectors on a three-year contract from St. Henry’s College Kitovu, where he is assistant skipper after a solid and convincing display at this year’s USSSA football championship in Fortpotal that saw his side lose 1-0 to St Mary’s Kitende in the final.”

Blessed with skill, dribbling abilities, accurate passing, set piece strength, calmness, and composure, Sekibengo featured for KJT in the Gothia Cup in China in 2017 and 2018 in the U12 category before winning both tournaments as well as scooping the MVP accolades in both editions.

In 2019, he played an integral role as the Uganda U15 side won the inaugural Cecafa tournament in Eritrea, defeating Kenya U15 4-0 in the final. He becomes the fourth signing at the club after fellow teenagers Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent, and Amis Bwangani.
