“The Best joins the Best and the Best replaces the Best,” read the statement, adding: “Salim Babu has joined his old friend and Coach, Teacher Francis Baraza as his Assistant Coach while Nowel Mandi replaces Wycliffe Omom as Team Doctor. Wycliffe joined Tanzania giants Simba as Team Doctor earlier this month. “Welcome home Coach Salim Babu and Doc Nowel Mandi.”

Meanwhile, with Babu’s exit, Nzoia Sugar are in the market for a new coach. Despite leading the sugar millers to a respectable fourth-place finish in the just concluded season, Babu quit the club to sign for big-spending Police.

Nzoia through a signed statement have advertised the vacant position left by Babu, adding those interested to take over the mantle, must make sure their application reaches the club by July 25.

“Nzoia is currently looking to recruit a qualified head coach to take charge of the team as they prepare to compete in the upcoming 2023-24 league season,” read part of the statement signed by chairman Evans Kadenge, adding: “Applications from individuals who meet the minimum requirements are welcome and the application should reach us not later than Tuesday, July 25.”

Nzoia finished last season with 64 points from 34 matches, managing 18 wins, 10 draws, and suffering six defeats. They will kick off their new campaign with a home fixture against Ulinzi Stars at Sudi Stadium on August 26.
