Ligue 1 Robbers Attack Donnarumma Home, Cart Away With Valuables

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma was tied up during an armed robbery at his Paris home, according to a source familiar with the inquiry who spoke to AFP on Friday.

The wealthy 8th district of the capital’s late hours on Thursday and Friday saw “several individuals” break into Donnarumma’s residence.

According to the person, who was not licenced to talk in public, he was “lightly injured” and “tied up” with his companion.

According to the source, who also confirmed a claim by the Actu17 website, which initially reported the break-in, the burglars escaped after making off with jewels, watches, and other luxury items valued at an estimated 500 000 euros ($550 000).

At a hotel close to their house, Donnarumma and his partner called the police.

Several PSG players, including Presnel Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Angel Di Maria, Dani Alves, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Sergio Rico, and Mauro Icardi, have been the targets of robberies in recent years.

For breaking into Marquinhos and Di Maria’s residences in 2021, four individuals received prison sentences in January and February of this year.

In response to the heist of Donnarumma, a PSG official stated, “PSG has confidence in the justice system to find the culprits as quickly as possible.”
