Kenya AFC Leopards appoint Juma as coach, Ambani to assist

AFC Leopards have appointed Tom Juma as their head coach ahead of the new FKF Premier League season.

Ingwe were in the market for a new coach following the abrupt resignation of Patrick Aussems at the end of last season, who cited family and personal reasons for the decision while in Belgium.

A statement from AFC confirmed: “AFC Leopards is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Juma as the new head coach of the club,” adding: “His appointment as head coach comes after his significant contribution as an integral part of the coaching staff in the previous season.”

The statement continued: “Alongside him, the club is pleased to welcome Fred Ambani, who will serve as an assistant coach. The management is confident that this coaching duo will lead the team to greater heights in the upcoming season.”

Juma was the assistant to Aussems in the last campaign when Ingwe finished without silverware. The team’s only dream for a trophy was shattered when they lost 2-1 to eventual winners Kakamega Homeboyz in the semi-finals of the Mozzart Bet FKF Cup.
