“We will be delighted to host you and we look forward to your positive consideration.”

When reached for comment, Homeboyz boss Shimanyula confirmed having received the invitation and further said they will honour the friendly as they step up their preparations for the Caf assignment and return to league action.

“It is true we have been invited by KCCA for a pre-season friendly and I can confirm we will send a contingent of 30 players and officials for the trip as we embark on preparations to start our first journey in the Caf competition,” said Shimanyula, adding: “We are also in negotiations to play Azam FC, in Tanzania, they have also approached us for a friendly, so our plans are to play KCCA first and then proceed to Dar es Salaam for the friendly at Chamazi Complex.”

Homeboyz will be taking part in the Caf competition for the first time, having defeated Tusker 1-0 in the final to win the FKF Cup.
