Nigeria Premier League Rivers United Unveils Ogenyi As New Head Coach

Evans Ogenyi has been named as Rivers United’s new head coach in the Nigeria Premier League ahead of the 2023-2024 season.

He took Fatai Osho’s place, who left the job at the conclusion of the previous campaign.
Ogenyi has led Warri Wolves and most recently Kano Pillars from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the NPFL.

In a tweet on the Rivers United Twitter account, Ogenyi expressed his excitement about leading the Pride of Rivers.

After speaking with Coach Stanley Eguma, it was a really easy decision to join the coaching set-up here,” Ogenyi told the club’s media.

It’s an exciting time to become part of this great team and I’m looking forward to working with everyone more closely on and off the pitch.

Additionally, Deputy Echeta, John Uche, Ebedebiri Endurance, and Yao Kouassi Bernard were also signed by Rivers United.

With 34 points from 18 games, The Pride of Rivers won Group B of the NPL regular season.
