Chelsea Chelsea Agrees To Pay Brighton £25m For Goalkeeper Sanchez

According to reports on Thursday, Chelsea and rival Premier League club Brighton have reached an agreement for Chelsea to pay £25 million plus add-ons for goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Following the transfer of Edouard Mendy to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli, Sanchez, who lost his spot to Jason Steele during the second half of last season, will provide Kepa Arrizabalaga with competition.

It is understood that the deal entails a £25 million upfront payment and a separate sell-on clause.

When he was at Brighton, Spanish international Sanchez, 25, collaborated with Chelsea goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts. Sept. 2022 saw Roberts depart for Stamford Bridge.

The Blues had their worst Premier League season in nearly 30 years, prompting the hiring of new manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is rebuilding the team.

Brighton is reportedly seeking a £100 million transfer fee for Seagulls midfielder Moises Caicedo, and Chelsea has also been connected with a bid.

They host Liverpool in their home Premier League opener on August 13.
