Uncategorised NPL Constitutes Technical Committee For Team Of The Month

The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has revealed the composition of its nine-person Technical Committee, which will choose the monthly NPL Team of the Month.

The Team of the Month will consist of 11 players, a coach, and space for reserves to bring the total to 18.

The NPL Board Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, stated that the choice was made to give players and coaches something to aspire to.

“We seek to elevate the quality of play and also encourage the Coaches to dig deep and offer great formations.

With the Team of the week, players would offer their very best to make the squad and with time there will be individual and collective benefits from this”, explained Elegbeleye.

The Committee is led by NPFL Board Member and former International, Daniel Amokachi, together with recognised Journalists Mitchel Obi, Segun Agbede, and Deji Omotoyinbo, according to a letter signed by Davidson Owumi, the NPFL Chief Operating Officer.

The NFF Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen, Coach Manu Garba, Harrison Jalla, Coach Godwin Uwauh, and Davidson Adejuwon, a former Director of defunct NPL side, MFN, are additional members of the Committee.

Members of the Committee have been invited to the 2023–24 NPL season draws, which will take place on August 17 in Lagos.
