CAF CAF To Test Ivory Coast Readiness WithWomen’s Champions League

Ivory Coast’s ability to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals will be put to the test, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League will be held in the West African nation from August 5 through September 16, 2023.

The women’s continental club competition, according to CAF, would be used to gauge Ivory Coast’s preparation to host the AFCON finals early the following year.

Five cities will host the competition, affording the thousands of travelling fans wider options of enjoying Cote d’Ivoire’s beautiful culture and rich heritage,” a statement read.

“In addition to the regular visits that the various CAF Departments have and continue to make at all five host cities, the host nation will be afforded an opportunity to assess their state of readiness when they host the third edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League in November.”

CAF postponed the 2023 AFCON finals to 13 January and 11 February 2024 on 3 July 2022 due to the adverse summer weather concerns in Ivory Coast.
