CAF CAF Unveils Osimhen, 29 Other African Players For 2023 Men’s Award

Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen leads the list of nominees revealed by CA for the men’s categories for the CAF Awards 2023.

The preliminary list for the various categories was compiled by a panel of African Football Legends, CAF Technical Experts, and a few media representatives from various nations.

The performance of the nominees between November 2022 and September 2023 was taken into consideration.

Twenty players have been nominated for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year, while thirty (30) players qualified for the top award, CAF African Player of the Year.

In addition to CAF Young Player of the Year, which is awarded to players under the age of 21, there are ten (10) nominees for Coach of the Year, CAF National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year.

A voting panel including members of the CAF Technical Committee, media experts, head coaches and captains of member associations, and clubs participating in the Interclub tournaments’ group stages will choose the eventual winner of each category.

In due order, the nominees for the women’s categories will be revealed.

At the most recent Awards Gala in July 2022 in Rabat, Morocco, Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala was named CAF African Women’s Player of the Year for a record-tying fifth time, and Senegal forward Sadio Mane was named CAF African Player of the Year.
