Kenya Nyamweya lauded for standing with Shabana FC despite poor results

A cross-section of Shabana FC fans have lauded Patron Sam Nyamweya for standing during these difficult times in the FKF Premier League.

Nyamweya was part of the crowd as the Kisii-based Glamour Boys suffered their third straight defeat in the top-flight going down 2-1 against Bandari at the Mbaraki Sports Club. Speaking after the game, one of the fans, lauded Nyamweya’s presence and the support he had accorded the team so far in the season.

“We want to thank Patron Nyamweya for sticking with this great team of Shabana, he has been there during our matches and has always been giving positive words to the playing unit and the technical bench, this are the kind of leaders we want,” said the fan.

Another fan said: “It is unfortunate other officials have now disappeared leaving Nyamweya the one to guide the team, he has always been there, whether we lose or win, he has done good for the team and we want him to continue supporting the team.”

Another fan from Kajiado County said: “Other officials always come to matches when they know they are coming to collect monies from gate collection, unfortunately during the Gor Mahia game Ksh1.2 million disappeared and no one has ever come out to tell us what happened, I think it is time investigations are done to ascertain where the money went to, who pocketed the money.”

Nyamweya was flanked by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) by Wallace Karia and Bandari vice-chairman Twaha Mbarak. The defeat left Shabana in position 17 of the 18-team table with seven points from 10 matches. They have managed one win, drawn four, and suffered five defeats.
