Uganda Kitata hits brace to help BUL FC open four-point gap at the summit

Alex Kitata scored a brace as 10-man BUL beat visiting Kitara 2-1 in a Ugandan Premier League match interrupted by rain on several occasions at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Sunday.

Denis Omedi got Kitara’s consolation, also his fourth goal of the current campaign. BUL’s seventh win out of eight matches sees the Jinja side stretch the lead by four points to 21. The only small dent on BUL’s day out was the sending off of Ibrahim Kazindula, who got marching orders after picking his second yellow card on 75 minutes.

On their part, league newcomers, Kitara, have lost just two of their eight matches, leaving them in third place on 16 points. Kitata, opened the scoring on seven minutes before completing his brace in the 19th.

The two goals were Kitata’s fifth and sixth of the season, taking him top of the scoring charts. Omedi reduced the deficit for Kitara with 10 minutes to go but BUL held out to claim all three points.
