Bundesliga Kane On Target As Bayern Rally Back To Beat Gladbach

Bayern Munich overcame a one-goal deficit to defeat Borussia Moenchengladbach 3-1 and maintain their advantage over leaders Bayer Leverkusen heading into their league matchup the following week.

Before their summit matchup next week, the Bavarians, who scored three goals after Gladbach seized a halftime lead, climbed up to 50 points in second position, two behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

As the first player from Bayern to win 500 games in all competitions, Thomas Mueller, the club’s senior offensive midfielder, set a new milestone in the process.

Against the run of play, the visitors startled Bayern by taking the lead in the 35th minute. Gladbach quickly executed a three-pass sequence after Mueller lost control, and Nico Elvedi eventually beat custodian Manuel Neuer.

After missing numerous opportunities to score through Harry Kane and Leroy Sane, the Bavarians tied the score at the end of the first half through the efforts of teenager Aleksandar Pavlovic, who scored for the second straight week.

After a mistake by the Gladbach keeper, Kane’s close-range header completed the hosts’ comeback in the 70th minute.

After leaving Tottenham Hotspur for a record 100 million euros, the England captain became the most expensive signing in the Bundesliga. He has now scored 24 goals in Bayern’s 20 league games this season.

Alphonso Davies, a defender for Bayern Munich, exited the field with an injury late in the game, but Matthijs de Ligt sealed the victory with a header.
