Zaidu Sanusi, an injured Super Eagles defender, returned to training on Thursday before the Africa Cup of Nations championship game, albeit he is still a major doubt for it.
After getting hurt in the quarterfinal encounter against Angola, Sanusi was unable to play in the semifinal match against South Africa.
On Thursday, while the team continued to prepare for the final, the FC Porto defender trained apart from the rest of the group.
“I don’t know if he (Sanusi) can recover, I hope he can recover for the next match but he’s out now because of injury.
“He didn’t do any practice these last few days,” the team coach Jose Peseiro told the media.
