Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Illechukwu Turns Focus To Insurance Game After Loss To Shooting Stars

Rangers International’s Fidelis Ilechukwu has turned his attention to the next game against Bendel Insurance, following a narrow one-nil loss to Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan.

Table-topping Rangers maintained their lead in the twenty-team NPFL 2023/2024 log with a 1-0 setback to old adversaries 3SC at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex on Matchday 36.

Ilechukwu rested six of his regular starters for the match, instead starting Ogba Ifeanyi, Auwalu Naziru, Agu Kenechukwu, and others.

According to Ilechukwu, “It was a good game against a great side under a quality coach.

” It was not the result that we wanted but we are going back to work on the weak areas ahead of our next match.

“We had a better second stanza due largely to the introduction of some of our key players who needed to be rested.

“We are still building our team and hope to get it right soon.”

Rangers remain in first place in the league log with 64 points from 36 games, and they will next face Bendel Insurance F.C. on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
