Bethel Oji of Abia Warriors praised his players for following instructions against Gombe United in a Matchday 36 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match.

Abia Warriors won the match at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe with a brace from Obi Samson and a first league goal from second-half replacement Antoine Desouza.

According to him, the players were able to overcome exhaustion following a poor performance in their previous game against Bendel Insurance, which resulted in a draw.

“It was a great performance from the players. I thank them for putting the instructions we gave them into action.

“Every game has its own approach. When we played against Bendel Insurance, the pitch was very slippery because of the heavy downpour.

“We were able to shake off the fatigue to get the victory.”

The Pride of Abia will face Akwa United Football Club of Uyo on Matchday 37 on June 16, 2024, in Umuahia, Nigeria.
