Africa Uganda: President of Rowing association suspended

Uganda Rowing Association (URA) has suspended troublesome president Denis Walusimbi Ssengendo for failure to honor federation major events according to Daily Monitor.

Walusmbi did not even attend the federation’s Special General Assembly at Country Resort Lake in Garuga over the weekend which is also part of his suspension.

“I sent out an information to everyone but am disappointed that they are not here and didn’t even bother to communicate with me,” URA general secretary Hamza Kahya told delegates.

A constitution was draft at the assembly, which ushered in Irene Kisule as the acting president after taking up the role of vice-president in the administration.

Solomon Muwonge takes over the treasurer from Raymond byabazaire who resigned last year.

Executive members are Fredric Muhumuza and Farouk Baluku

All this was done in the absence of Charles Batambuzze who is in charge of the technical department and Walusimbi.

“Due to this bad behavior of Mr. Walusimbi, we have resolved the assembly to suspend Mr Walusimbi until further notice, for failing to attend major events of the association,” added Kahwa.
