The Cape Verdean team which has overshadowded gaints like Morocco and Angola in the second group of Group A was such a surprise to Africa at large.
And today the justly awarded Black Stars play with the Islanders but they would need to be careful of their reputation as one of the tournaments “favourites”.
However, neither side is expected to do its best going into this game and Coach Lucio Antunes will be counting much more on his players and the Ghanaian specialist, Mubarak Wakaso will probably return from his injru and suspension

  • Ghana (26) and Cape Verde (70) are separated by some 43 places on the current Fifa national team rankings.
  • Cape Verde coach Lucio Antunes is actually employed most of the year as an air-traffic controller.
