Africa Match-fixing: FIFA threats, South Africa wants to explain

FIFA does not tolerate any political interference in the affairs of football. And does not intend to depart from its guideline.

According to L’Equipe, the world football body sent a letter to the South African government to summon waives for a judicial inquiry into match-fixing and let stand the local federation (SAFA) and the sporting justice.

The South African Minister of Sport said that the investigation is in progress on a request from the local Olympic committee. Gert Oosthuizen, decided to visit the headquarters of FIFA (Zurich) to explain.

Several members of the Federation including the president had been suspended for a few weeks following suspicions of match fixing of the Bafana Bafana before the 2010 World Cup.
