Gael Monfils obliged to store his racket right in the first round of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters 2013.

The French enjoying a wild card on the Rock was eliminated by the Spanish, , Albert Montanes resulting from the  qualifications. Monfils, the World’s105th,  bowed in three sets, 6/2, 2/6, 6/4 1:46.

In the next round, Montanes will face Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka, who defeated Denis Istomin.

“Sliderman” has three more tournaments to better prepare before attending Roland Garros, his main objective of the clay.
