Asia Athletics: Blake victim of a breakdown

Yohan Blake could be out for several weeks. The Jamaican suffered from a breakdown on Saturday in Kingston.

For his first outing of the season at the UTech Classic, the 2011 world champion and Olympic silver medalist in the 100m has just said on Twitter that he had been victim of a cramp.

His coach Glen Mills said that Blake had had an MRI on Monday. The most thorough investigations have identified a breakdown “more serious than we had thought at first”, said Glen Mills.
The sprinter hopes to defend his world title in Moscow in August.
