Africa South Africa : COSAFA Launching Women’s Champions League for 2021

Like the CAF (African Football Confederation), COSAFA plans to launch its Women’s Champions League next year. Decision taken following an Executive Committee meeting on Monday.

This announcement is part of the plan to review the cancelled schedule of the sub-regional organization. Thus, the Council of Southern African Football Associations intends to hold its women’s selection competition. It will be from 19 to 31 October in South Africa.

Also the U17 women’s tournament, as well as the COSAFA Cup, the zone’s flagship competition between men’s teams (15-25 October).

In addition, cancellation of the U20 women’s tournament. Thus the COSAFA Women’s Champions League will begin in 2021, as well as the CAF’s one.

COSAFA is the CAF most dynamic sub-regional organization with not less than 6 competitions per year. With the new competitions, we could count 10 tournaments next year. The organization includes 14 countries.
