South Africa Bafana Bafana opened training camp ahead of Sao Tome clash on Friday

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana started training in Durban on Monday, November 9 as they are set to take on Sao Tome and Principe next Friday for their third 2022 AFCON qualifier.

Coach Molefi Ntseki was compelled to make changes to his team as five players namely Thibang Phete, Andile Jali, Abubakar Mobara, Thami Mkhize and Thulani Serero could not report to camp due to medical reasons.

These players have then been replaced by Musa Lebusa, Vincent Pule, Thapelo Morena, Tshepo Rikhotso and Thabo Nodada.

The first training session was mainly dominated by local-based players with Kaizer Chiefs goalie Itumeleng Khune and captain Thulani Hlatshwayo all around.

Abroad players such as Glasgow Rangers new boy Bongani Zungu and Anderlecht’s Percy Tau will reportedly report to camp on Tuesday.

In addition, South Africa will host Sao Tome on Friday, November 13 at Moses Mabhida Stadium (21h00) before travelling to Port Elizabeth three days later for the return leg.
