Africa Ivory Coast – Nigeria Opening WAFU U20 Zone B Tournament This Saturday

WAFU U20 zone B tournament will launch this Saturday, 5th December 2020 in Benin. Ivory Coast Elephants in Group B with Nigeria and Ghana, will start the competition against the Super Eagles. It will be the next day Sunday, 6th December at 4 pm GMT at the Charles De Gaulle stadium. The men of coach Haidara Soualiho will meet Ghana a week later, for matchday 2 of Pool A. The Elephants have been absent since 2 editions.

In fact, the Ivorians will play in this regional tournament, which allows them to compete with future players of national teams A. In a group where they are surrounded only by English-speaking teams. They will have a lot to do when we know the quality of the young Ghanaian and Nigerian teams.

Beaten 2-1 last month in a friendly game by the reigning champion of the Ivorian league 1, the Racing Club Abidjan, this is a new challenge for this Ivorian U20 team.
As for the host country, Benin, they will compete in Group A with Togo, Burkina Faso and Niger.

The winner of this tournament will be automatically qualified for the AFCON U20 taking place in 2021 in Mauritania.
