African players abroad Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cannot stop scoring for Barcelona

Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in a third consecutive game for Barcelona as they beat Athletic Club 4-0 on Sunday evening.

Aubameyang has now scored five goals in six games since joining Barcelona from Arsenal in January.

He scored alongside Ousmane Dembélé, Luuk de Jong and Memphis Depay for Barcelona to maintain fourth spot.

The Gabonese striker scored a hat trick in the 4-1 win over Valencia two weeks ago then in the 4-2 win over Napola in the Europa League match last week.

Aubameyang left Arsenal in an acrimonious manner after falling out with manager Mikel Arteta who stripped the striker of the English club’s captaincy.

The striker then joined Barcelona on a free transfer from Arsenal having moved to the North London club from Borussia Dortmund in Germany in 2018.

The Gabonese striker scored 22 goals in 36 appearances for the Gunners compared to 98 goals in 144 matches for Dortmund.

Aubameyang is the captain for Gabon but he was no able to play at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon as he was down with Covid 19 and he was sent back to London after recovering
