Malawian winger Peter Banda has won Emirate Aluminum ACP Simba Fans Player of the Month award for March in Tanzania.

Banda shrugged off competition from midfielder Pape Ousmane Sakho and right-back Shomari Kapombe.

The former Nyasa Big Bullets playmaker polled 78.60% of the votes Simba fans cast.

He was followed by Sakho on 20.43% and Kapombe with 5.98%, according to Simba website.

Banda will pocket $555 (Shillings 2,000,000) from sponsors of the award, Emirate Aluminum ACP.

The 21-year-old has scooped the award following his impressive performances for Simba.

Banda played four matches and 226 minutes showing a clean sheet and assisting with one goal (assist).

Fans voted for the award winner through the Dar es Salaam-based club’s website www.simbasc.co.tz.

Banda is the brightest prospect for Malawi football and featured for the Flames at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.

He signed for Simba last season from a loan spell at Tisapol Sheriff in Moldova.

Bullets had loaned out Banda to Sheriff but they could not sign him.
