Long-serving striker Benard Parker has become the latest player to leave South Africa’s DStv Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs.

The Soweto giants announced on Friday that their 11-year-old romance with Parker had come to an end.

Kaizer Chiefs will sadly not renew Bernard Parker’s contract when it expires at the end of June 2022. Parker, a bona fide Kaizer Chiefs legend, will leave the Club he has served with distinction for 11 years,” the team’s statement reads.

Chiefs have since signed promising talent in defender Zitha Kwinika and striker Ashley Du Preez from Stellenbosch FC.

Chiefs said the new signings had been contracted with effect from 1 July 2022 ahead of next season’s DStv Premiership.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has has signed the duo as part of his rebuilding exercise after getting rid of eight players on Wednesday.

Chiefs released Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Zambian striker Lazarus Kambole, Kenyan midfielder Anthony Agay, Colombian striker Leonardo Castro, midfielder Kearyn Baccus, Lebogang Manyama and defender Daniel Cardoso.
