Ghanaian left-winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has joined Premier League side Southampton FC on a four-year from French Ligue 1 side Rennes in a deal worth €20m.

The 22-year old went the pecking order this season with Stade rennais after a convincing first season.

Bruno Genesio did not put much confidence in him and Sulemana mostly appeared as second-half replacement for Rennes this season.

The player has then decided to change home and the Saints acquired his services on transfer deadline day.

“Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of forward Kamaldeen Sulemana from Rennes, subject to a work permit and international clearance”, the Premier League side announced.

“The 20-year-old Ghana international has completed a deadline-day transfer from the French club on a contract until 2027.”

Speaking upon the Black Star arrival, Southampton head coach Nathan Jones lauded Sulemana’s qualities and hope he’ll help his side.

“This is another really positive addition for us this month. We’ve obviously been keen to add a little more potency to the side, and Kamaldeen is someone who does that for us”, Jones told Saints’ official website.

“He’s at a stage in his career where we feel he can help us in the immediate term, but also continue to grow and develop further into the future.”
