Bundesliga Bayern Munich Suspends Mane Over Assault On Sane

Bayern Munich has suspended and fined Sadio Mane for allegedly punching teammate Leroy Sane.

The former Liverpool forward was seen arguing with Sane during Bayern Munich’s 3-0 Champions League quarter-final first leg loss to Manchester City on Tuesday, with reports claiming the former struck the latter after the game and cut the Germany winger’s lip.

The pair were said to have apologized in front of their teammates at training on Thursday, but Bayern confirmed that Mane will not play against Hoffenheim at home on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the Bundesliga champions on Thursday, Mane will not play this weekend due to “misconduct” following the loss at the Etihad Stadium, and he will also be fined.

This season, Mane has 11 goals and five assists in 32 appearances, while Sane has 13 goals and seven assists in 36.
