Uganda Youngster Okello bids KCCA FC an emotional farewell

KCCA FC playmaker Allan Okello has confirmed his exit from the Uganda Premier League outfit in an emotional message delivered on Wednesday.

The Uganda Cranes youngster returned to the Lugogo-based side last year in September on a season loan deal from Algerian side Paradou SC, a side he had joined in January 2020.

At the end of the season last Sunday, Okello had managed to score six goals, registered eight assists, and was arguably KCCA’s best performer.

“Hello KCCA FC, I have taken the last few days to reflect on the just concluded season. Our dream from the beginning was to win the double this season and it’s only right to accept that it was a very disappointing season for us,” Okello wrote on his social media pages.

“While we may not have achieved our ultimate goal, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude.

“A special thank you to our fans for welcoming me back at the club, an experience that I will always cherish and take with me forever. Despite the setbacks we faced, you never gave up and always pushed us until the very end.”

Okello added: “To my fellow teammates, there is no failure in football, we always learn from even the harshest of experiences and I strongly believe you still have whatever it takes to achieve the dream at this great football club come next season.

“To everyone at the club, thank you for your unwavering support and belief. Together we have created memories that will last a lifetime, and I am forever grateful to be a part of this great football club. More than just a club…. With Love #AO10”

KCCA failed to win the title as Vipers SC were crowned on goal difference. They both had 53 points from 28 matches.
