CAF Champions League Al Ahly not bothered with huge crowd against Wydad AC – Koller

Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller has dismissed claims his players will be afraid to play in front of a huge crowd when they face Wydad AC in the return leg of the Caf Champions League final on Sunday.

The Egyptian giants will head into the fixture at the Stade Mohamed V Complex in Casablanca carrying a 2-1 advantage secured from the first leg meeting in Cairo. Koller says his side are not bothered with the home crowd that is expected to attend the game insisting their target is to finish the job they started in Cairo.

“We are used to playing in front of large crowds and our players have the experience to deal with such kind of atmosphere,” Koller told reporters as quoted by CafOnline, adding: “Football is played on the pitch and we are ready to deal with what is ahead of us, for us, this is an enjoyable atmosphere and it does not pose any problems for us.”

On who is under pressure between Al Ahly and Wydad, Koller said: “We are ready, and the players too have prepared well for this game. We are under no pressure; pressure will be on Wydad. We won the first leg and that is a good step for us going into this game.”

The Red Devils will need to avoid defeat in the 20h00 (19h00 GMT) kick-off duel to reclaim the title they lost to the Moroccan giants last year at the same venue.
