Friendly Omalla in squad as Harambee Stars finally departs for Mauritius

Kenya’s Harambee Stars have finally boarded the plane for Mauritius to take part in a Four-Nation tournament.

Among the notable inclusions in the traveling team are Gor Mahia forward Benson Omalla, KCB’s Byrne Odhiambo, Kariobangi Sharks’ Kevin Luke Otiala, Kenya Police’s Cliffton Miheso, and Kakamega Homeboyz duo of Robinson Kamura and Moses Shummah.

Regulars Richard Odada, Eric Ouma, Amos Nondi, David Ochieng, and Anthony Akumu also feature in the final team for the international friendly matches against Pakistan and Mauritius, in St Pierre, Mauritius.

Harambee Stars departed for Mauritius on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 10 am on a five-hour flight and are expected to arrive in the Island nation at 3pm. Al Duhail SC and former Gor Mahia striker Michael Olunga will captain the side in Mauritius.

The team will play two matches, against Pakistan on Wednesday, June 14, and thereafter hosts Mauritius on June 18. The matches are in preparation for Stars’ return to Caf and Fifa assignments in November.

Defenders; David Ochieng, Kevin Luke Otiala, Collins Shichenje, Robinson Kamura, Amos Nondi, Eric Ouma, Daniel Sakari, and Abud Omar.

Midfielders; Daniel Anyembe, Richard Odada, Charles Ouma, Richard Odada, Teddy Akumu, Joseph Mwangi, Abdallah Hasan, Clifton Miheso, Victor Omune, and Boniface Onyango.

Forwards; Moses Shummah, Benson Omalla, and Michael Olunga.
