Uganda URA FC terminates Salim Abdallah’s contract after one year

Ugandan Premier League outfit URA FC have confirmed parting ways with midfielder Salim Abdallah after only one year at the club for breach of contract.

The Tax Collectors revealed the news on their official website by stating: “URA can officially confirm that midfielder Salim Abdallah’s contract with the club has been terminated with immediate effect.

“This is after the player went AWOL on March 3, 2023, without official permission from the club and failure to heed calls and emails from the club officials. Ever since, he is yet to return to-date which amounts to breach of some articles in his contract thus termination.

“Everyone at the club wishes him the best in his future endeavours.”

Abdallah joined the Tax Collectors on a two-year contract in September 2022 as a free agent from SC Villa that was to keep him at the club until 2024.

He featured in a couple of games in the first round with the most notable one coming in URA’s 1-0 home win over Arua Hill SC where he emerged as the Man of The Match and he now becomes the second player to be released by URA after Ronald Kigongo, who was let to leave the club after close to ten years.
