Asia UAE Club Al Wahda FC Announces Pitso Mosimane As New Manager

On Saturday night, Al Wahda FC, a United Arab Emirates Pro League team, unveiled Pitso Mosimane.

Mosimane was appointed the new head coach of Al Wahda just days after formally departing Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli.

When he took over as Al Ahli coach in September 2022, the team was in seventh place after five games.

However, he managed to get them back into the Saudi Pro League with four games remaining.

Despite this remarkable accomplishment, there were rumors that the club would fire the coach.

Mosimane chose to discontinue his agreement with Al Ahli, although he didn’t remain jobless for very long.

“Al Wahda FC Company has signed with the South African Technical Director Pitso Mosimane to lead the first team as a Head Coach,” the club stated.

“The Club’s Board of Directors welcomes Mr Mosimane to the Home of Champion ; wishing him the success in serving the club’s leadership, administration and fans ambitions.”

Al Wahda won four UAE Po League championships, the most recent of which was in 2009–10.

In the previous season, they placed third and narrowly missed qualifying for the Asian Champions League.

Al Wahda joins SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly, and Al Ahli Saudi as Mosimane’s fifth club. He has so far amassed 19 career victories.
