athletics Amusan Surges To Another Win At Gyulai István Memorial meet

Tobi Amusan, a two-time Olympic and Commonwealth Games winner, won the women’s 100-meter hurdles event on Tuesday at the Gyulai István Memorial meet in Hungary with a time of 12.35 seconds (-0.5).

With just over a month until the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, the Nigerian defeated the American duo of Lay-Lay Johnson and Nia Ali, who finished second and third, respectively, in 12.41 and 12.50 seconds.

Remember how the world record holder beat Kendra Harrison and Nia Ali of the USA at the Diamond League competition held in Silesia on Sunday by setting a season-best time of 12.34.

The Gyulai Istvan Memorial is the sixth and final Gold event of the World Athletics Continental Tour this year.

At the Gyulai István Memorial, world silver medalist Ese Brume had a respectable jumping performance, placing second in the women’s long jump with a leap of 6.69 metres. Milica Gardaevi of Serbia won the competition with 6.80m.
